Description

Introducing the Mindcraft Ultra by Daniel Thomson in collaboration with Kelly Slater, a step up or midlength iteration of the Mindcraft, taking the connectivity of rider and equipment in larger surf to the next level. The Mindcraft Ultra is a state-of-the-art surfboard design when it comes to drawing smooth performance lines when there’s power and energy in the water.

The design features an elongated parallel outline offering pure highspeed trim with an effortless ability to perform smooth rail turns while maintaining a distinct performance feel, thanks to Tomo’s Full Length Spiral Vee bottom contour. Featuring a similar torpedo nose as the Mindcraft shortboard, this nose profile is designed to be forgiving in the most critical moments, and is design aesthetic that both Tomo and Kelly feel is superior in performance for surfing outside of the jersey. A bump wing round tail completes the balance and symmetry of this design, allowing for tight turns at speed with exceptional control. All of these design featurs result in excellent control and effortless rail engagement particularly when riding at high speeds in larger surf.

The Mindcraft Ultra can be ridden as either a step up or a midlength, and can be sized accordingly. The larger sizes allow for a wider wave range and are generously volumed with performance rails that will still perform great when more foam is desired.

Recommended as a Quad for the best performance, and is the configuration that Tomo and Kelly have been riding.

Wave Type

Like many of Tomo's models, the Mindcraft Ultra excels in waves with more energy, but can also be ridden in smaller conditions as a midlength. The board's wave range will be determined by size, with the larger sizes having a wider, more accommodating wave
range. Recommended for the 2-6' range, when there's power and energy in the water.

Board Features

An iteration of the original Mindcraft shortboard, the Mindcraft Ultra shares the same general outline with an elongated rail line, the same torpedo nose, same Full Length Spiral Vee bottom contour that makes rolling over rail-to-rail effortless, and the same bump wing
round tail that completes the balance and symmetry of this design. These design features
are all about smooth rail engagement when riding at high speeds in larger surf.

Sizing Up Was the Right Call

"After watching countless YouTube reviews, I bought the Kelly Slater/TOMO Mindcraft as a step-up board. The common advice was, “If you're unsure, size up,” so at 81kg I went two sizes larger and chose a 6'0" (36. 1L). I was also considering the Boss Up, but I didn't want the extra swing weight in the nose. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The board paddles effortlessly, the stepped flyer provides exceptional hold, and it still turns tightly in cupped sections while transitioning rail-to-rail with ease. I was initially nervous about the extra volume, but for Sunshine Coast conditions, it has worked incredibly well. Micky D."

Finally a board that floats me.

"Since I’m now fat and skinny at the same time I went up in volume with the 6’3 Minecraft. It surfs and feels great. I’m the problem, I’m terrible. I have man boobs and a big gut but with more time in the water on this board I think I can get back to being decent in about a years time."

Perfect board for the everyday surf

"I love this shape! I live in Florida, and have used it a couple times in 2ft surf and wow - it really held speed in the flat sections while pivoting smoothly in the pockets. Definitely recommend this board to have in the quiver!"

Perfect for the everyday surf

"i love how well it pivots in the pocket, also holding speed in small surf here in florida. i ride it as a thruster with the KS1 endorfins, and its a blast to ride"

Super fun responsive board

"Rode as a thruster at first…then switched out fins on beach to a 4 fin. The 4 fin setup worked best…really fast and responsive especially on backhand reef wave at home break"

Back in my game.

"Too much to tell. after being forced to quit surfing due to work in Texas now I’m back in Florida and start surfing again. I bought this Minecraft and it just blow my mind. very lively, responsive board. I started with the machadocado model, Is a wave catching machine, but I needed it something more aggressive, and this board supersede my expectation. Now I’m back hitting the lip hard and super fast board and easy to catch wave. Thank you guys this board is a must have in your quiver."
