Two minds combined. Rob Machado and Dan Mann have created the Mashup: a melding of each of their most popular designs, the Seaside and the Spitfire.
Both board designers have spent time mixing and matching their favorite elements of each shape, and they’ve landed at something that goes fast in weak waves as well as a Seaside, and also drives vertically in good waves as well as the Spitfire. The Mashup is the ultimate groveler you'll never want to take out of your trunk.

"awesome board, versatile, fast, sharp! would love to see a stretched mashup pro version as well"
The board worked great
"The board worked great and was very easy to ride. Customer service at Firewire was excellent! Thanks Charlie"

"I (185 cm & 96 kg) surfed the 5'6 Mashup for the first time in a rapid wave pool (citywave design). The board is an absolute rocket. The rocker-double barrel combination accelerates beautifully and at the same time the board is super easily put on rail. Most importantly, the rail never bogged allowing aggressive turns as well as drawn out carves. A very well rounded shape that gives the ambitious Average Joe the feeling of instantaneous progress. Congratulations Firewire!"
@firewiresurfboards in Utah? Yup
"@firewiresurfboards in Utah? Yup Here there is only paddle practice in reservoirs and ponds. However California is where I like everything about the Mashup. Surfing small waves. I start to notice the lines it'll draw. Sharp turns and down the line speed leave me pleasantly surprised. I picked this board using the fire wire volume calculator. Knowing it would probably give me more volume than I wanted as a good place to start. In a perfect scenario. I would surf the Mashup shorter than my height to speed things up, lessen chatter for more control. With five fin boxes I switch back and forth between quad and thruster depending on the surfing conditions and I enjoy these @rob_machado keel fin templates. My extra short @slaterdesigns 5 foot comp leash keeps the locals safe. A hybrid @proliteint board bag allows me to keep countless surfing essentials all in one place. Surfing is made fun."
TL;DR: One of my
"TL;DR: One of my favorite boards after a year. Slays on mushy days, wants to take off. Run it as a quad for more speed, it still turns easily. I've been riding the Mashup for over a year. I stepped down to it too early, but once I adjusted to the lower volume, it became my go-to. Even in Hawaii, conditions aren't always great, but the Mashup performs on soft, mushy, and windy days. It paddles well, catches waves easily, and feels responsive underfoot. For reference: I'm 6'0"", ~180 lbs, beginner/intermediate, riding the 5'9"" Helium core in a quad setup. It's listed at 34. 2L, but feels closer to 35-36L, just right once dialed in."
I have been SWEARING
"I have been SWEARING by Dan Mann thrusters in this board for the best part of a year. They work amazing. But in a punchy longer period beach break session recently I threw reactor quads in, on advice from Bowie Pollard over on YouTube, and holy. . . heck, it felt just like the Seaside through carves. I was blown away. . . it felt electric fast through roundhouses. Amazing acceleration and hold on rail with a quad. It really is a versatile board. It didn't want to 'pump' like the thruster, it wanted to drive on rail and keep driving."
Firstly, Helium tech is
"Firstly, Helium tech is amazing. So lively, So durable. 3 years on and not a dent. Not a spider crack. I got a 5'9 Mashup. A little big for me at 6. 0 and 80 kgs and I think will downsize this board to a 5'7 next really just to bring that wide point back a bit. Having said that you can actually oversize this board and it will still be AOK as Dan Mann seemed to be very considered as he scaled the board up. The rails still bite and Dan Mann did not go exponentially wide as he scaled up. Board goes great in waves with a bit of wall and cup and where from thigh high to overhead, but it will still go through flat sections very well once you get going. I feel like it needs a bit of fin. I have the Dan Mann thruster larges in it and the board just LIT UP. This was after trying MR's and Reactor mediums. The Dan Manns are the best by far. I feel best days for this are waist to shoulder/head high days with a little bit of push and tide on the push. Always fun. Great board. I'd love to try the Dominator 2. 0 now. :)"

"I'm 5'11 200lbs intermediate/advanced surfer and I ride a 6'0 The mashup really is what they say it is from at first I was riding it as a thruster and was surprised how it rode right away but then threw the Kelly Slater endorphin set as a quad and was blown away by the speed and performance . Hands down highly recommend this a must have for your quiver"

"Amazing board! Works very well in wave pools!"
